Announcing our First Giveaway!

Providence Ltd is excited to announce our first giveaway.

The heart of every home is a fabulous kitchen.  Our very favorites incorporate stone, wood and iron. Fill baskets and bowls with fruits and vegetables ready to eat.  Add to the mix potted herbs and flowers and you have the recipe for an ambiance filled kitchen.

We particularly like to use cutting boards and old bread boards in a variety of ways.

I found this image via Decor de Provence. Desiree is passionate about French, Belgian and Scandinavian design.  She has posted lots of photos of fabulous kitchens.  This particular one is from a home featured in Betty Lou Phillips' book, The French Room.

Belgian Pearls is one of our very favorite design blogs.  Greet has excellent taste and did a very informative post, All About Kitchen Design back in September. This is a must-read if you are building, remodeling or just love to look at beautiful Belgian inspired kitchens.

Everything about this kitchen is to die for.  The large window, open shelving ,stoneware, hanging utensils, herbs and flowers...  There is so much here to enjoy.  Really loving the painted gray cabinets with the black stove. The warm wood table on the stone floor is just icing on the cake.  And of course we love the breadboard!

This last image from Belgian Pearls is yummy too.  The lamp, baskets, stone counter top and floor, open wood shelving, curtain rather than cabinet door are all just wonderful!  And did you notice the breadboards?  So much more impact when grouped together in a collection.

Another blogger friend we just have to mention is Brooke Giannetti with Velvet and Linen.  We absolutely love everything she is doing right now.  Brooke recently did a make-over on her own kitchen and posted pictures. To see all the before and after shots,  visit her January 23rd post, A Few Changes At Our House.  She incorporated bread boards into her new design as well.

I apologize for the quality of this photograph, but I had to share it anyway.  It’s a clipping from the April 3rd issue of The Dallas Morning News. This Park Cities homeowner hired Lisa Luby Ryan owner of At Vintage Living in Snider Plaza to completely renovate her 1951 bungalow.  Her home was transformed into a comfortable showplace with a French twist.  The kitchen with the rustic island is the homeowners favorite room in the house.  Mine too!  I am absolutely drooling.

John Saladino is a real master of interior design.  This photo is from his book Saladino Villa.  At the end of the long counter in his personal Villa kitchen under the clock is a stack of what else?  Breadboards leaned casually against the wall.

OK, so I've dropped a few hints.  Have you guessed our giveaway?  Sorry… it's NOT a completely renovated kitchen.  If you are contemplating making some changes or just need some fresh new ideas we can help.  Just drop me an e-mail.

No its not a completely renovated kitchen, but it is a fabulous round breadboard like the one shown here.  We have these for sale in our shop at Fabulous Finds and  are giving one away to a very lucky winner.

All you have to do to win is leave a comment here telling us something you like about this post.  It's that easy.  The contest ends May 24th at midnight PCT and is open to anyone.  We will ship worldwide.

Good luck to you all!

Thank you so much for including my little kitchen in your beautiful post!
It looks like we both share a love of old bread boards. I actually have one on my ottoman. It works perfectly as a tray for my kids' snacks!
I know your first give away will be a big success.

My favorite is the pic from Velvet and Linen of the three open wood shelves. I LOVE that they are decorated with a mix of silver, white dishes, and bread boards. I think I have the perfect place in my own kitchen to display the combination of metal, porcelan, and wood!! Thanks for the great idea!!

This post makes me want to rethink some things in my kitchen! The bread boards are wonderful. I don't have a round one. If I'm not the lucky winner, I may have to visit your booth!

May 19, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterPaula Phelan

Hello!
So glad to have gotten your email so I could visit! I LOVE these Belgian kitchens, and it looks like we have a common love for some blogs out there. Looking forward to reading more of your very pretty blog!

I just love the earthiness of bread boards. I had never even really thought to display them in an interesting way which is what this post has led me to reconsider. I'm going to have to search for a few more to put them into an arrangement. Love the post!
