Basil Mayonnaise & BLT
Before you make this simply appetizing meal, you will need a few things.
Sliced Bread, Tomatoes, Lettuce, Maple Cured Bacon
1 Cup mayonnaise, basil leaves, butter
Roll the basil leaves together tightly and slice them thinly.
Place the thinly sliced basil in a food processor with one cup of mayonnaise. Chop the basil until it is mixed in well with the mayonnaise.
Sit your basil mayonnaise aside as you prepare the maple cured bacon and toasted bread.
Spread butter on both sides of the slice bread and lightly toast the bread. In a separate pan, prepare the maple cured bacon to suit your taste.
Once the bread is toasted, spread the basil mayonnaise on two slices. Top the spread with the bacon, lettuce and tomato.

That looks so good and I haven't even had breakfast yet.....time to go cook some bacon! Happy Sunday!
Bacon? Count me in!
One of my fav (easy) dishes is shish kabob on the BBQ. OK, so it' takes a bit of time to chop up the ingredients, but actual cooking time is really quick.
I love mine done this way:
- Red Pepper, cut into medium sized squares
- Your favorite cut of steak, cubed(I don't skimp on quality meat!)
- Pork, cubed
- Onion
- Bacon, cut into squares
- Green Pepper, cut into medium sized squares
In that order, string all the ingredients onto your skewers. Repeat until skewer is full. Using a brush, coat with a little bit of your favorite oil that can withstand higher temperatures (veggie oil, peanut oil, etc. No Olive Oil... Olive Oil burns at medium to high heat settings). Sprinkle with salt, pepper, paprika, tarragon and chili flakes to taste.
Pre-heat BBQ on high, then turn temp down to medium heat. Cook for approximately 10 minutes rotating every couple of minutes.
Serve over a bed of rice.
Bon Appetite!!

The basil mayo is just the thing to take this simple sandwich over the edge. Wish I had some bacon tonight!
Was it as yummy as it looks? I'll have to give this one a try.

Bon Appetit --simple indeed, simply elegant is more an apt description. this was made with care -- balance of flavors, savory looking, probably the scent and taste was also well thought out too. It had all the main ingredients for a perfect lite meal anytime- anywhere... embracing all the senses. Love this will book mark it, and save this recipe. perfection.

Well, it's late Sunday evening and I was ready to turn in and now your post is making me think I need a late night snack!
My mother in law recently visited and made the simplest potato soup. Red potatoes, cream of potato soup, parsley, onion, salt and pepper, shot of cream. It was so delish! I'm going to make it this week :)
XO,
Kel
YUM-O! That sandwich will be on my mind until lunch!! :)
