Oh my...I have experimented into the wonderful world of panini sandwiches this weekend and can't wait to experiment more...
Everyone knows that I'm a Pinterest addict...And I pin yummy sandwich recipes all the time...They always tempt me but haven't actually tried any of them until this weekend.
We were going to the lake so I ran through the grocery store to pick up a few things on our way out of town. We like Boars Head spicy pepper turkey and I bought some roast beef as well, all thinly shaved. I threw in a bag of mozzarella cheese for making veggie pizzas.
I've read if you don't have a panini maker to use a foil covered brick ...and I'm here to tell you that it works just fine...
Here is what I did...
I buttered one side of Bakery French white bread that was sliced...
Got the skillet hot and added two slices of the bread butter side down.
Quickly spread creamy horseradish sauce on both pieces of bread.
Piled turkey and roast beef on to one of the slices of bread.
Put the shredded mozzarella on top of the meat.
Topped the sandwich with the other piece of bread...butter side up.
Press the foil covered brick over the sandwich and leave for less than a minute. Just until golden brown.
Flip the sandwich and press with brick...Less than a minute...Remove from pan.
Could not be easier...but work quickly so the bread does not burn.
