Super Bowl Sunday...
I'm more excited to have my family over than about the game.
Talena and Mike and Mother and Daddy are all coming.
While everyone else is more focused on football...I was thinking about fresh flowers...
For appetizers we will have family favorites...
Cream Cheese Sausage Dip...
There is really no way to make this dip look pretty, but it doesn't matter because it's so good it just doesn't last long...
Brown mild sausage and drain.
Soften 2 8 ounce blocks of cream cheese.
Combine the sausage and cream cheese with a can of mild Rotel tomatoes.
Microwave to warm and serve with tortilla chips.
BLT Dip...another family favorite.
1pound bacon, cooked
1cup sour cream
8ounces cream cheese, softened
1 1/2cups cheddar cheese
1tomato, seeded and chopped
1/4cup chopped green onions
- Preheat oven to 350°F degrees.
- Mix mayonnaise, sour cream, and cream cheese in a bowl until thoroughly combined. Crumble bacon into mixture and stir. Add cheddar cheese, green onions, and tomato and mix well. Pour into a shallow dish or pie pan and bake for 20 minutes or until bubbling. Garnish with additional green onions, tomato, and crumbled bacon. Serve with corn chips.
At half time we'll have Barbecue sandwiches with Asian slaw...
I've created my own slow cooker recipe for the pork which I've shared before ...click here for the recipe. Asian slaw is the perfect complement to to these sandwiches...and for convenience you can buy it in the bag at your local grocery store...
Tonight is all about easy...and about fun.
How are you celebrating the Super Bowl? We would love to hear.
It's you turn. Let's talk!
