Recent Obsession

We miss you!

Between life changes and business, we've not been blogging near as much as we would like. I guess the bottom line is we are not bloggers but designers who blog.  We have to put our clients first.

I wish I could just post a pic or two a day, but that's not us either. We normally do that on facebook, but try to use this as our platform to share larger ideas, inspiration and projects.

That being said...today we are going to share a single image that we recently posted on facebook that we absolutely love... from the response, obviously our folowers did too..

Is this not fabulous?

Trying to figure out a way to talk my husband into this. I just can't get it off my radar.

It's your turn. Let's talk!

Sunday Supper...Fish Tacos With Lime Cilantro Crema

It's been a difficult week.  Missing Cappi so much, but Sister has been there for me and kept us working hard.  I want to thank each and every one of you for your comments, phone calls and e-mails.  I just can't tell you how much they have meant to Don and I.

It's time to get back to Sunday Supper...

This recipe from Cooking Light sounds so good...

Fish Tacos with Lime Cilantro Crema

Cumin, coriander, and paprika lend these fish tacos a delightfully warm, smoky flavor. They're the perfect foundation for the zippy sour cream sauce. For an appealing variation, substitute peeled medium shrimp for the snapper or romaine in place of cabbage.

 Crema

1/4 cup thinly sliced green onions

1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro

3 tablespoons fat-free mayonnaise

3 tablespoons reduced-fat sour cream

1 teaspoon grated lime rind

1 1/2 teaspoons fresh lime juice

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 garlic clove, minced

Tacos:

1 teaspoon ground cumin

1 teaspoon ground coriander

1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika

1/4 teaspoon ground red pepper

1/8 teaspoon salt

 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder

1 1/2 pounds red snapper fillets

Cooking spray

 8 (6-inch) corn tortillas

2 cups shredded cabbage

 Preparation

Preheat oven to 425°. To prepare crema, combine the first 8 ingredients in a small bowl; set aside. To prepare tacos, combine cumin and next 5 ingredients (through garlic powder) in a small bowl; sprinkle spice mixture evenly over both sides of fish. Place fish on a baking sheet coated with cooking spray. Bake at 425° for 9 minutes or until fish flakes easily when tested with a fork or until desired degree of doneness. Place fish in a bowl; break into pieces with a fork. Heat tortillas according to package directions. Divide fish evenly among tortillas.  Add cabbage and crema.

Yum! Yum!

The table is all set...

Beautiful Neutrals

It's all about fabrics today...I'm off to meet Sister in a bit and we will be knee deep in samples and swatches all day...We have a house full of furniture to re-cover and window treatments as well...

Our client is inspired by the soft neutrals in these rooms..

A sofa, mix of chairs and barstools have already been ordered in these fabrics

from Cobblestone and Vine and Restoration Hardware.

There's still an entire house of furniture to be recovered and window treatments to be considered...

It's going to be a fun day!

It's your turn.  Let's talk!

In Loving Memory of Cappi

Saturday morning started like any other...except Don had to take Cappi to the vet for fluids to help flush her kidneys. She's been in congestive heart failure and we did this once before when her kidney levels were too high. Don took her for a walk and didn't even wake me. Off they went and he picked up donuts for us on the way home.

We were to pick her up in a couple of hours...then came the phone call.

Cappi had suffered a siezure and they were not able to revive her. She is gone and she took a whole lot of us with her. I had already been on the computer...just before that call searching for recipes and material for a Sunday Supper Post...doesn't sound like such a good idea right now.

All I want to do is think about Cappi...I want her back...obviously that won't happen. She was the love of our lives. To say that we treasured every moment with her, and will for the rest of our lives...just doesn't sound like enough. What do we do with this pain?

This was taken a few days ago, while I was working on a blog post.  One of her favorite spots in my office.  So beautiful...she looks like a puppy.

We love you dear Cappi!
